All
volunteers stay at ‘Thida’s House – Community Housing for volunteers’ for the duration
of the orientation and their placement.
‘Thida’s House –
Community Housing for volunteers’ was created by Interweave in February 2008 and holds the middle between guest house
and home stay accommodation. Volunteers live with a Cambodian family and Thida’s House offers space for a maximum of
22 volunteers at a time. Accommodation is based on single, twin-share or triple-share rooms with en-suite or shared bathroom,
cold water and a fan and includes daily breakfast and the use of a bicycle.
Thida’s House
also offers a communal area in a garden setting, cooking facilities and a library/resource center with teaching materials
and information about Cambodia. Thida’s House is located 300m from Siem Reap’s Old Market area.
